Job Summary


Reporting to the Manager, ATS Learning Delivery, the incumbent is responsible for all administrative matters pertaining to operational training in the respective Flight Information Region.

Provides support to the student, both in the Operational Training Unit (OTU) and transition to On Job Training (OJT).

Ensures compliance with relevant policies and regulations in all aspects of operational training from recruitment to licensing as well as release from training and license maintenance.


Job Description:


Key Accountabilities:

  • Administers the office to ensure that all important information and training documents are processed accurately for effective action and decisionmaking on part of the Manager and his / her team. The position is the administrative focal point for all students arriving at the operational unit.
  • Provides direction and support to the student during the training process in the Operation Training Unit ensuring they are aware of, and adhere to, company policies and procedures as well as relevant collective agreements.
  • Develops and maintains a system of internal and external correspondence to track documents and review them for pertinence, format, and timelines.
  • Coordinates the administration of internal management in the areas of records, accommodation, personnel, security, access to information, reference materials, and audits.
  • Assists in the planning of meetings and conferences during absences of the Manager.
  • Prepares and provides oversight for Unit Operations, Quality Assurance Evaluations, and Transport Canada Audits.
  • Maintains integrity of all training files in accordance with ATSAMM and CARS.
  • Assists Manager with a 3year training plan, development of associated budget, and qualification predictions.

Education/Occupational Certification:

  • Successful completion of a secondary education or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A Diploma of College Studies will be an asset.

Experience:


  • Experience providing administrative support to multiple individuals.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of NAV CANADA policies, directives, and guidelines regarding operational training, as well as knowledge of Transport Canada policies and standards.
  • Knowledge of NAV CANADA policies, directives, and guidelines regarding pay and benefits, budgets, security, travel, purchasing, correspondence, records, and confidentiality.

Abilities:

  • Ability to plan and organize work to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain files, records, and followup systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
