About Us:


The Web and IT Team designs and develops websites and web services for units within the Registrar's Office and Student Services.

The Team works with the large Enterprise IT systems, Peoplesoft Higher Education, Peoplesoft Human Resources, OWL, Laser Fiche, and collaborates with Western Information Systems Group (WISG) and WTS (Western Technology Services) on service outcomes for Faculty, Staff and Students.

The team provides complete support and maintenance, business analysis and are leaders in technological innovation.


Responsibilities:


The role co-ordinates and acts as a liaison between the OOR Staff and the WISG technical staff (Developers and DBA's) to create project scope, and specifications and help in the development and testing and final rollout to production of new functionality within the PS system.

This role also investigates and creates plans in conjunction with WISG to upgrade the HE PeopleSoft HE system and other core systems.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Diploma in Computer Science
  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Computer Science or other quantitative area with a strong systems orientation is preferred
  • Experience:
  • 2 years in a Higher Education environment, utilizing Peoplesoft
  • 2 years in a Higher Education preferably in a Registrarial function is preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • In depth knowledge of Peoplesoft Higher Education information systems and processes
  • In depth knowledge of PeopleSoft reporting tools such as PeopleSoft Query and SQL
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with technical and nontechnical users
  • Ability to write clear, concise procedural documentation
  • Strong client focus and a desire to achieve results is essential
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize sizable amounts of detail/data
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, meet tight deadlines and adapt to growth and change
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and achieve results
  • Advanced computer skills including spreadsheet design, work processing and database management
  • Knowledge of approaches and techniques for working with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
  • Selfmotivated multitasker with strong organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving skills including experience formulating and executing action plans
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines
