Work Arrangements

  • This 1 year contract position is for 40 hours per week commencing on September 18, 2023 (or as soon as possible). Must be able to work flexible hours (including some weekends and evenings on occasion).

  • The Facilitator / Career Coach facilitates career development and job search primarily with ages 16 to 30 years. This position works as part of a small team and supports participant recruitment, screening and work placements.
    Responsibilities
  • Assist with client recruiting and screening:
  • Conduct information sessions;
  • Conduct screening interviews;
  • Participates in selection process.

Assessments invigilate and debrief assessments:

  • Skills for Success;
  • Career Exploration.

Action Plan Development:

  • Collaborate with participant to develop realistic, achievable action plan.
Facilitate f2f, virtual or hybrid formats for groups and/or individual sessions on:

  • career exploration;
- labour market information;
- education planning;
- portfolio development;
- skills for success;
- employability skills;
- diversity and inclusion / Canadian workplace culture;
- digital literacy;
- job search strategies;
- job maintenance;

Administration:

  • Monitor client progress and update CMS
  • Provide monthly reports to managing CCSP
  • Collaborate with program team and assist to coordinate a calendar of events and activities, that include field trips and guest speakers;
  • Develop and maintain referral network for wrap around supports
  • Contribute to ISO Certification
  • Other duties in support of TG operations as required

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need

  • A Bachelor's degree in a field related to social services / career development or equivalent combination of education and work experience;
  • Career Development Practitioner Certification preferred;
  • Dynamic facilitator with 2 years experience;
  • Experience working with newcomers, refugees and youth with multiple barriers to employment;
  • Established network with community service providers preferred;
  • Current labour market knowledge;
  • Strong organizational skills and solid classroom management skills;
  • Able to identify and address client needs and articulate them to other program staff;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills;
  • Knowledge of Essential Skills/Skills for Success is preferred;
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and internet research;
  • Ability to travel within the Lower Mainland;
