Description
Job Summary:
You are an aspiring Estimator with expertise in large infrastructure projects.
Under the direction of the Senior Estimator, you will prepare estimating packages in relation to quantity take offs, cost studies and competitive bid management while utilizing current estimating software.
You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects.

- Perform quantity takeoffs and reviews takeoff summaries.
- Interface and communicate effectively (written and oral) with the estimating team, with all levels of management, clients, and industry contacts.
- Incorporate requirements from drawing specifications, terms, and conditions into bid.
- Prepare estimates, direct and indirect costs under the guidance of the Senior Estimator.
- Assist in preparation of review documents and the development of project schedules by liaising with project team and subtrades.
- Request subcontractors and supplier pricing quotes and manage subcontractor data base.
- Review and analyze quotes, providing a summary to support subcontractor selection.
- Prepare conceptual estimates by interpreting historical data.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of related estimating experience within infrastructure projects.
- Completion of postsecondary education with a diploma or degree related to Construction Management, Estimating, Engineering or a related education.
- Knowledge of modern construction practices, techniques, and equipment.
- An understanding of construction documents and the ability to assess the level of completeness.
- Knowledge of construction costs, budgets, and ability to develop a project schedule.
- Strong computer background including experience with MS Office, Bluebeam, InEight Estimate, Primavera P6, and related software.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
