The EHS Specialist, with the support of the MAS' EHS Team, will be responsible for implementing, and maintaining the policies, programs, and procedures within the L3Harris EHS management system, and will ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, local, and customer EHS requirements.

As Environment, Health & Safety Specialist at L3 MAS you will:

  • Participate actively with the EHS team and organization's leadership to establish policies and directions to achieve leadership within the EHS program;
  • Support implementation of the EHS program within the scope of associated contracts, responsible for compliance with all applicable EHS and corporate management standards;
  • Ensures that all applicable internal and external reporting requirements are performed accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Remains current with all applicable regulations and company policies, and advises EHS Lead and leadership in EHSrelated programmatic change recommendations or requirements;
  • Focuses on continuous improvement of EHS programs in processes, systems, and products;
  • Works with stakeholders in the organization during space planning, building expansions and/or other changes in facilities or work areas to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met;
  • Conducts workplace surveys, safety audits and assessments. Advises EHS Lead and management of conditions requiring corrective action;
  • Provides/supports EHS briefings and training sessions as appropriate to fulfill regulatory requirements and foster a safe working environment;
  • Conducts job hazard assessments to identify and mitigate hazards in the workplace;
  • Leads the local safety committee and engages all employees to take ownership of EHS;
  • Supports pollution prevention and sustainability project identification and execution;
  • Supports and guides accident investigations to determine thorough root cause and produces and maintains necessary documentation and permits;
  • Maintains required site permits and licenses;
  • Establishes and maintains necessary contacts with site, local, provincial, federal regulatory agencies;
  • Maintains required records in accordance with regulatory and L3Harris requirements;
  • Work is performed in multiple locations and environments to include offices, laboratories, manufacturing areas, hangars, flight lines, and customer location support;
  • Flexible to support offshift or weekend activities and response measures, and able to travel up to 25% as needed;
  • Performs related duties or special projects as directed.

Required Skills and Experiences**:


  • Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience;
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years postSecondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience;
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience;
  • Strong technical understanding of occupational health, safety and environmental regulations, and practices under federal and provincial regulations;
  • Experience with the process of opening and following up with relevant authorities (administrative and medical) as well as the rules governing temporary assignments
  • Experience in managing claims and disabilities
  • Experience developing and authoring risk assessments, policies, and training programs;
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation);

  • Bilingual in French and English;
  • EHSrelated professional accreditations;
  • ISO 14001:2015 and 45001:2018 experience;
  • Strong root cause analysis skills;
  • Experience using and leveraging EHS common tools and systems, such as Gensuite;
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problemsolving, and analysis skills;
  • Exhibits sound judgment and professionalism in all situations;
  • Selfdirected, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities
