Manager, Institutional Quality Assurance, Centre of Continuing Learning:
Required Position:
Full-Time Appointment
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of the Centre for Teaching and Continuing Learning, the Manager, Institutional Quality Assurance, will lead and oversee the development and delivery of training and supports for programs and individuals engaged in quality assurance processes.
The incumbent will be expected to build strong working relationships with faculty members, program administrators, Deans, the Offices of the Provost and Vice President Academic and of the Registrar, and the Chairs of CPF, CELP and ACAPLAN.
Support Programs and Faculty with institutional quality assurance and accreditation processes
- Create, organize, and deliver workshops to elevate understanding of and compliance with quality assurance processes;
- Develop and deliver workshops in developing course level (CLOs) and program level learning outcomes (PLOs) and alignment with Degree Level Expectations;
- Coordinate annual orientation for programs undergoing cyclical program review and/or accreditation;
- Facilitate navigation for programs and faculty through minor and major program modifications, new program development and a cyclical program reviews;
- Mentor faculty members and programs in the assessment of student learning outcomes and program outcomes;
- Support programs and faculty in curriculum design and curriculum mapping, incorporating best practices and evidencebased approaches (including AODA standards).
Liaison to Quality Council
- Maintain records to ensure compliance with selfstudy submissions, periodic reports, final assessment reports & implementation plans, and reporting requirements (internal and to the Quality Council)
- Representative as a _Quality Assurance Key Contact_ to the Quality Council
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
Serve as a resource for the scholarship of teaching and learning and provide educational opportunities to advance best practices in teaching and learning in different delivery modes, class sizes and with respect to Laurentian University's tricultural mandate.
Qualifications:
- Master degree in a related discipline (Education Preferred, etc.);
- Solid understanding of the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance, the Quality Assurance Framework, and the Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP);
- Indepth knowledge of the course and program approval process at CELP, CPF and ACAPLAN;
- Solid knowledge of accessibility issues and the AODA legislation;
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute knowledge and experience in a respectful manner;
- Excellent written and oral fluency in English and French;
- Excellent presentation skills and a keen interest in sharing knowledge through workshops;
- Excellent recordkeeping skills;
- Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines;
- Ability to work independently and show initiative;
- Organizational, managerial, supervisory and leadership skills;
- The ability to work effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment;
- Ability to work fluently, orally and in writing, in both official languages, French and English.
