Sparrow Hotels is excited to be hiring for an Executive Sales Manager at our Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport location.

Wyndham Garden is a full-service hotel located on the first Urban Reserve in Winnipeg; the Long Plain Madison Reserve located on Treaty 1 territory.

The hotel is owned by Long Plain First Nation and is operated by Sparrow Hotels.

The hotel features 132 guest rooms, pool, waterslide, fitness center, 5800 square feet of flexible meeting space, dining room, café, and 230 parking stalls.

The Executive Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business from all markets while maintaining and developing existing accounts. If you are skilled in building relationships, engaging clients, anticipating guest needs, and exceeding expectations, then we are looking for you


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying company growth opportunities and managing the sales department to actively solicit clients and accounts to foster this growth.
  • Ensures client specifications and expectations are met and any complaints/issues are identified and resolved.
  • Respond to all group leads, inquiries at property level including outside lead sources Hotel Planner, Cvent, and Wyndham Community
  • Develop and follow up with proposals for prospective clients, and contractual agreements, obtain the client's signature
  • Ensure that Group Bookings are loaded in Property Management System (PMS) with detailed information about room blocks, guestroom rates, reservation method, reservation deadline, payment information, special considerations, function space information, F&B Minimums and other items of relevance related to each group.
  • Follow up with each client to ensure that billing requests are accurate
  • Sell and negotiate room rates based on achieving company goals, maintaining average room rates and number of room nights sold
  • Produce room sales through prospecting, networking, responding to inquiries, conducting site inspections, client meetings and building relationships with corporations, event planners, tour companies, tourism industry officials, etc.

Requirements:

This position must have a minimum of 3-5 years of direct Hotel Sales Manager Experience

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Must have a sharp knowledge and understanding of the hotel sales / operations.
  • Energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide outstanding guest service.
  • A working knowledge of Delphi is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, if and when needed.

Salary:
$60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
