Position Summary
The role of the Material Demand Planner is to interface with the various internal and external stakeholders responsible for planning, scheduling, and maintaining the material requirements for Work Periods and rectification of deficiencies.
One of the primary responsibilities of this role is to identify material demand based on maintenance schedules and coordinate the activities from demand identification to purchase requisition.
This includes working closely with the service delivery department, engineering department, project management office, and procurement department to ensure that all necessary materials are obtained in a timely and efficient manner.
A key part of this role is ensuring that the required materials are in stock for all required maintenance.Key Areas of Responsibility
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 35 years' experience working within the Military or a Defence Contract or project desirable;
- Thorough understanding of maintenance schedules, including working with bill of materials (BOM);
- Strong computer literacy, with proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite,
- IBM Maximo, SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system;
- Experience working within procurement, or Supply Chain & Warehousing environments; and
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS) an asset;
- Bachelor's degree or certificate/diploma in Supply Chain Management and/or equivalent experience; and
- Defense Industry experience an asset.
Physical Demands
- Predominantly office based, but will also be required to work onboard Naval Vessels, or remotely (including from home).
- Must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards.
