Position Title:
Teaching Assistant, Emergency Medicine - CLS304 (4 Positions)**
Available: January - April 2024 (Winter 2024)

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced
Teaching Assistants for Emergency Medicine (CLS304).

In this course, students focus on the fundamentals of Emergency Medicine including the management of emergency scenarios and the expectations of emergency care in primary care settings.

While specific duties for the position of Teaching Assistant may vary with each course, typically they include advance preparation, leading weekly small-group practical sessions, demonstrating relevant techniques and methods to student groups, evaluating student performance of relevant techniques and methods, and offering guidance and mentoring to students.


This course runs on the following select Wednesdays from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM:


  • Jan 17,31 Feb 7,14 Mar 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17 (Final Exam Practical)

QUALIFICATIONS:


Experience:


  • Strong background in Emergency Medicine
  • Teaching experience with adult learners, particularly within practical/ handson teaching situations

Education:


  • Board licensed healthcare professional registered in the province of Ontario (ND, DC, MD, etc)
  • Clinical experience and a background in innovative, interactive teaching is an asset
  • Training in teaching methodology, measurement and evaluation at a postsecondary level is desirable

Skills:


  • Exceptional oral and written communication and facilitation skills with the ability to motivate and engage students
  • Excellent organization, analytical, research and time management skills
  • Positive demonstrated commitment to student success

This position is requires being on-site at CCNM Toronto Campus
