Your opportunity:
The Office of the Vice Dean, Research & Health Science Education oversees all researchand graduate education activities for the Faculty of Medicine and coordinates with its counterparts at the affiliated hospital research institutes for clinical research
This includes:
grant proposal development, administering internal funding allocations, collecting and reporting on research productivity metrics, support and development of graduate education programs, administration of graduate student funding, awards and education initiatives, and managing core research facilities.
As the Recruitment and Communications Officer, you will play an important role in informing on recruitment and communication strategies.Through targeted recruitment methods, combined with enhanced communications strategies, you will help inform and attract prospective students, and inform them of various program offerings.
Additionally, you will use your experience in marketing, use of social media and advertising tools to advise and inform clients and push forward the strategic priorities of the Office of the Vice Dean, Research & Health Science Education.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting detailed data analysis to inform recruitment strategies and plans, including researching potential target markets
- Delivering student recruitment presentations and promoting programs at recruitment events
- Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/or guidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
- Advising on communication strategies to support goals and priorities and maximizing social media presence and growth
- Advising clients on branding, marketing and advertising strategies for multimedia channels
- Producing promotional and outreach materials
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in health sciences or acceptable combination of equivalent experience in graduate education. Master's Degree highly desirable.
- Minimum four years within a similar role, conducting a combination of recruitment and communications strategies
- Demonstrated experience delivering student recruitment presentations
- Experience in design, development and implementation of targeted recruitment portfolios using social media strategies
- Proficiency with advising stakeholders on branding, marketing, and advertising strategies for multimedia channels to reach project goals
- Experience in website design, and developing visuals, graphics, and multimedia/videos
- Ability to maximize social media presence and growth
- Ability tobuild strong and strategic relationships with stakeholders
- Experience in managing multiple priorities with conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent public speaking skills and ability to cater to a variety of audiences
- Experienced in website and graphic design tools (Web Pac, Canva, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Excellent computer skills, including indepth knowledge of and extensive experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various social media channels (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
