NOTE:
This competition will be used to hire multiple positions.


NAIT's Advanced Carpentry Technology program Will focus on theory and hands on training with the materials and processes required to construct, renovate and repair residential and commercial buildings and structures.

Students will also have the opportunity to explore new and emerging technologies and systems such as High-performance Energy Efficient building systems and trades related software.


The program is currently recruiting for salaried instructors who are energetic leaders, committed to student success, and have outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
  • Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
  • Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
  • Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
  • Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
  • Provide early and ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
  • Respond to student issues
  • Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
  • Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
  • Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT's Strategic Plan and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute
  • Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
  • Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of a Carpentry Journeyperson certificate, and Inter-Provincial Red Seal required.
  • Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket.
  • Teaching experience an asset

Remuneration:
Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Instructor salary grid $65, $113,452.00 annually.

However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78, $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations.
