The Opportunity
We are actively recruiting an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Vancouver. The Accounts Payable Specialist is an integral member of our team, working directly with the Senior Accountant and Controller.
The Accounts Payable Specialist is accountable for the accounts payable and related administrative needs for the Agentis Group of companies.
Key components of this role include working efficiently to process high volume payables within set deadlines and managing the full Accounts Payable cycle to ensure that accurate data is collected.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Controller with oversight of the accounts payable cycle and deadline management
- Supporting the month end close process, providing credit card reconciliations, expense reimbursements, monitoring prepaids, intercompany balances, and accruals, and preparation of working papers for the same
- Preparing weekly electronic payment and cheque runs across multiple entities
- Coordinating and supporting the filing of monthly and quarterly remittances (eg. GST, QST, RST)
- Provide support for audit and review engagements related to the AP function
- Supporting multiple business units with routine and adhoc financial requirements as assigned
- Maintain an organized document filing system
Qualifications and Experience
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience in the professional services industry
- An accounting diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related disciplines
- Basic knowledge of provincial and federal sales tax
- Selfmotivated, accountable and resultsdriven
- Ability to drive tasks to completion and juggle multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to liaise with internal contacts and external vendors to clarify information and address concerns related to AP
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Ability to exercise tact and sound professional judgment when responding to matters concerning sensitive and confidential financial information
- Commitment to process improvement, identifying gaps and presenting solutions
- Proficient in MS Excel skills
Salary:
$41,210.12-$59,480.55 per year
Flexible Language Requirement:
- French not required
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- vendor management: 1 year (preferred)
- Accounts payable: 1 year (preferred)
