Technician, Integrated Entertainment and Media Hub (Two Positions)
School of Art and Design
Temporary Part-Time - Up to 24 hours/week - $23.42/hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) year Diploma with a focus on Media Technology or equivalent
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a media specialist in a video/audio environment that includes video, audio, broadcasting, network, gaming, computer hardware and software
- Strong knowledge of networks and computers, broadcast, and digital film technologies
- Knowledge of industry best practices related to hardware level repairs and custom TV broadcast computer systems
- Demonstrate a solid knowledge of shared storage and networking infrastructure, including signal routing and patching
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative in a customer service teambased environment, prioritizing and organizing work
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others
- Ability to interact with students, faculty, and staff
- Must be able to reliably commute daily and/or relocate to North Bay, ON
DUTIES:
- Configure and support information technology systems in the School of Art and Design including video, audio servers, network infrastructure, and storage systems in the following areas: G-Wing Theatre, Atmos studio, computer labs, and edit suites
- Provides technical support & implementation, for the School of Art & Design including professional video, audio, and computer hardware; both PC and MAC operating systems; servers and custom TV broadcast computer systems
- Use past knowledge and industry best practices to effectuate hardware level repairs as well as to custom fabricate and modify equipment used in the School of Art and Design
- Monitor, maintain, and repair various technologies within the School of Art and Design and configure its wireless communications system to support effective program delivery
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program and adequate parts and hardware inventory to effectuate timely repairs
- Recommend equipment, systems, and workflow solutions by consulting with industry best practices, along with input from faculty, staff, management, and vendors
- Act as a technical resource and point person for the School of Art & Design faculty, students, and staff; provides correct operational techniques and set up of equipment and facilities; take steps to ensure that students, faculty, and staff understand the limitations of equipment and facilities
- Other duties as assigned
