Summary:

Responsible for operating powered equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting products.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Load, unload and move products and materials using material handling equipment / Forklift in the production plant.
  • Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking
  • Transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks and to store and retrieve materials in warehouses
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents
  • Record shortages and reject damaged goods
  • Unpack, code, and route incoming goods to appropriate storage area
  • Prepare bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents
  • Record all inventory discrepancies to appropriate personnel
  • Verify production has the required materials at all times
  • Perform inventory counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials

Other Duties, but not limited to:

  • Maintain and clean working area
  • Check computer systems for material locations and inventory status
  • Other duties as decided by supervisor

Qualifications:


  • Certified to operate heavy machinery
  • Excellent handeye coordination.
  • Previous experience in production/warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and hazardous goods
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Steel toe boots required
  • Ability to follow proper safety procedures

Working Conditions:


  • 40 hour work week (Monday to Friday, eight (8) hours per day)
  • Fastpaced manufacturing environment
  • Physically demanding
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, and stretching
  • Lifting of light and heavy materials

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$18.50 per hour
