Woodworking Machine Operator - Entry Level

Woodworking Machine Operator.

The primary task of the Woodworking Machine Operator is to:

  • Operate/maintain the Edge Banding Machine,
  • Load/unload/maintain CNC machines and track/maintain all related tooling,
  • Lay up laminate while adhering to all Health and Safety Procedures.
GK will provide all job knowledge and training for Woodworking Machine Operators; previous woodworking experience is not required. Any experience working with machines, wood, or performing tasks that require constant attention to detail would be beneficial. The role of a Woodworking Machine Operator is repetitive and requires a quality focused mindset. The Machine Operator will work with teams to solve problems. However, the Machine Operator will complete a majority of tasks independently. Benefits are available after 3 months (Dental/Vision/Medical/Drug Plan).


Responsibilities:


The three main responsibilities are:
2) Lay up laminate on various substrates to ensure material is available to support the production requirements.

The operator will spray contact cement in our spray booth, while adhering to our internal Health and Safety Procedures regarding PPE.

3) Load/Unload Woodworking CNC machines, and work with CNC programmers to improve quality and trouble shoot problems when they arise. These machines preform repetitive tasks, and errors will be repeated if they are not addressed. The Machine Operator is empowered to stop production and escalate the conversation to include the CNC programmers. Together, the team will implement corrective action to remedy the problem. Additionally, this machine creates a lot of sawdust which requires daily cleaning and regular preventative maintenance.


The next steps for a Machine Operator would be to expanding their knowledge base to safely operate a panel saw and coordinate material flow within the department.

$17.00-$22.00 per hour
