reports directly _to the Director of Human Resources_

Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately process full biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in accordance with Company and provincial (x9) regulatory requirements
- Ensure earnings and deductions are appropriately coded and entered
- Processing of new hires, terminations, leaves of absence including prorated / final pays and Records of Employment (ROEs)
- Processing pay adjustments and employee payroll / data changes
- Preparing and uploading retirement plan contributions to the appropriate carrier website
- Processing annual special payroll runs for profit sharing / bonus payments
- Responding to all employment / payroll related inquiries from Service Canada and related agencies
- Performing yearend payroll activities (e.g., adjustments) including balancing and submitting regulatory returns (e.g., WSIB, EHT)
- Answering all employee payroll/HR inquiries ensuring optimal employee relations
- Administer employee benefit and GRRSP programs
- Working in conjunction with HR Business Partners to provide effective administration for all disability claims management for short and longterm disability leaves
- Provide effective general HR support
Experience, Skills & Competencies
- Must have at least 3+ years of experience administering full payroll and HRIS, preferably in an HR environment
- Experience administering a payroll across multiple provincial jurisdictions preferred
- Experience working with benefits administration and processes preferred
- Solid working knowledge with Ceridian Dayforce (or similar) preferred
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) from the National Payroll Institute completed or actively being pursued is preferred
- Solid working knowledge of MS Word and Outlook; general Excel skills for reporting, metrics and data validation
- Ability to provide excellent customer service a must
- Extremely strong attention to detail
- Strong planning, time management, organization and followthrough skills are a must; ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on an ongoing biweekly pay cycle
