Job Summary
Chateauguay based Controller will serve as the representative for general and cost accounting functions.

The Controller is responsible for the production and analysis of monthly financial statements and their compliance to GAAP and internal policies of the US head office.

Operating in a manufacturing environment, the Controller will ensure accurate costing and work closely with the operation group to ensure efficient inventory management.

Job Duties

  • Sustain a robust and efficient accounting system that aligns with MPS Corporate Accounting.
  • Produce monthly financial statements in due time.
  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely presentation of all financial statements.
  • Oversee the procuretopay process and invoicetoreceipt process.
  • Maintain accurate cost accounting records and variance analysis.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reporting staff.
  • Prepare for audits and make certain that financial reporting is completed properly and that all documentation follows applicable regulations (GST, customs, income taxes etc.)
  • Foster a spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Support the Finance Director in preparation of budgets, forecasts et various projects.
  • Preparation the weekly pay during Human Resources Director vacations.
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 5 years of cost accounting experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years in a managerial role
Competencies/ Skills

  • Speak, Write and Read French and English fluently.
  • Oracle JD Edwards or similar ERP familiarity.
  • MS Excel proficiency pivot tables, vlookups, and logic formulas.
  • Strong understanding of Procurement and experience in Distribution business model a plus.
  • Ability to communicate with senior leadership.
  • Critical reasoning, solutionbased thinking, and research skills.
  • Ability to complete complex tasks with mínimal supervision.
  • Management skills incl. ability to foster teamwork.
  • Normal work week: 37.5 hours on site
