Are you passionate about community engagement and event planning? Join our team as the
Community Events & Marketing Coordinator, where you'll play a helping role in spearheading diverse community initiatives, cultivating successful partnerships, and serving as the face of Coastal Community at events.

This is a part-time position with the opportunity to work full-time hours.


What's the role?


As the
Community Events & Marketing Coordinator, you'll play a vital supporting role in planning and executing diverse community initiatives across Vancouver Island.

Your responsibilities include fostering positive partnerships, representing Coastal Community at events, and aiding in enhancing community engagement and mission promotion.

With your strong coordination skills and expertise in volunteer management, your goal is to assist in making a meaningful impact within our local communities.

Please note, this position does require travel throughout Vancouver Island.


Your duties will include:

  • Provide support and services to enhance community experiences within Coastal Community.
  • Coordinate and support the planning and execution of community events, and initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and employees, fostering collaboration and support for community engagement efforts.
  • Represent Coastal Community at various community events as required, serving as a brand ambassador and cultivating positive interactions with attendees and stakeholders.
  • Assist specialists within the Marketing department by providing support for marketing initiatives related to community events, including promotional activities and materials.
  • Manage logistics for community events, including setup, takedown, organization, and procurement of necessary supplies, ensuring efficient operations and optimal attendee experience.
  • Organize and oversee volunteers for events, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth execution and positive volunteer experiences.
  • Provide support for internal and external communication related to community events, social media engagement, and responding to online inquiries or comments.
  • Support in event wrapup activities, including evaluations and reports, to assess event success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Adapt to working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, ensuring events proceed smoothly regardless of environmental factors.
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring the safe handling and distribution of food at events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What are we looking for?

  • Successful completion of a high school diploma.
  • Food Safe Certification is preferred.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends, some nights, and holidays.
