Support Services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assists with the timely starting of cases and case turnovers, inclusive of room set-up and routine cleaning, and the stocking of supplies and equipment to ensure all rooms are ready for use
- Assists with patient positioning prioritizing patient safety and comfort
- Assists with patient/stretcher/bed transfer across the Hospital supporting efficient patient flow
- Checks/tidies/replenishes procedure carts and point of use supplies and equipment as assigned
- Delivers specimens and blood requisitions to laboratories and picks up blood products for Perioperative Services
- Other duties as assigned by the Perioperative Services leadership team/delegate
- Job Requirements
- Successful completion of a high school diploma
- Successful completion of OR Attendant Certificate preferred
- One (1) year of recent and related work experience; preferably in a perioperative environment
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position in order to perform the essential duties of the job which requires frequent reaching, bending, standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and walking for extended periods of time
- Understands the difference between sterile, clean and contaminated equiPerioperative Service
- Operating roompment
- Ability to take direction and work cooperatively in a fastpaced team environment and independently
- Demonstrated initiative and problemsolving skills
- Dependable, thorough and able to adapt to emergency situations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of this position
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
