Summary:
The Default Recovery Specialist is responsible for the maintenance, management and recoveries of Accords charged off debt. This role will perform skip tracing, negotiate settlements/payment arrangements, prepares legal and third-party assignments, and monitor enforcement actions. This position works closely with internal and external partners and reports directly to the Manager, Collections & Customer Service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Professionally and respectfully negotiating with consumer and exploring internal settlement options to avoid legal proceedings.
- Partners closely with members of the Accord collections team, in house counsel, Trustees, outside attorneys and Third-Party Collections service providers
- Maintain a working queue of approximately files with the ability to multitask.
- Assign defaulted files to legal and thirdparty collections, monitor recovery progress and recommend changes in enforcement plan/strategy
- Communicate with EDC regarding status changes, present settlement offers for approval and supply account updates
- Gather information to locate debtors whereabouts for successful service using tools such as Clear, Canada 411, Credit Bureau Reports, social media, etc.
- Perform additional Skip Trace actions to obtain information required for successful enforcement
- Track, monitor and report on Legal Costs Vs Recoveries
- Maintain internal record keeping and update tracking sheets
- Participates in department meetings

Education / Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of insolvency process and experiencing filing Proof of Claims
- Knowledge of the legal claims process
- Able to work within a highvolume multitasking environment.
- A minimum of 2 year of skip trace experience.
- Proficient on all social media platforms and opensource tools.
- Think "outside the box" and can decipher credit bureau reports.
- Intermediate skills with Office 365 (Excel, Outlook. Teams.)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- This position is required to be in the Vancouver, BC office a few days a week. This is NOT a remote position.
Experience:

- 2 year(s): A minimum of 2 year of skip trace experience
