Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview:

The incumbent is responsible for performing daily diet office duties including:

  • accurately processes changes to the patient card file (diet changes, food preferences, admissions and discharges) in the dietary software system in a timely manner.
- prints and distributes tray tickets, labels and reports as required.
- maintains statistical information, filing, and month end records according to record retention guidelines as applicable.
- participates in Quality Assurance Programs.


Experience:


  • Previous experience in food service preferred.
  • Experience dietary software (CBORD Nutrition Services Suite) and excel spreadsheets.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Grade 12 or equivalent, Manitoba standards required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:


  • Valid Food Handler Certificate required.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively, with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook minimum 70% in each area).
  • May be required to assist with meal tray preparation.
  • May be required to assist with transport of meal carts.

Physical Requirements:


  • Use of computer terminal, fax and telephone for long periods of time. I
  • Involves some intermittent standing, walking and carrying.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently in a time sensitive environment.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
