Position Description:


Job Summary:


The Clinical Research Project Assistant (CRPA) will work closely with study team in the _i_OUCH Pain Lab at The Hospital for Sick Children to assist with various studies (e.g.

participant recruitment, data collection, data entry).

The Clinical Research Project Assistant will also work closely with the research team and reports to the Principal Investigator or her designate (i.e., Project Manager).


Project Summary:


Through evidence-based research and knowledge translation processes, the _i_OUCH Lab at The Hospital for Sick Children aims to improve the lives of children and adolescents through the use of innovative information and communication technologies.


Here's what you get to do:
The CRPA will assist with three studies in the lab:

  • Randomized control trial of the "Pain Rehab Virtual Reality (PRVR)" project for youth with chronic pain
  • Feasibility testing of the "iPeer2Peer CHD" virtual mentoring program for youth with congenital heart disease

Specific job duties include:


  • Assisting with participant recruitment and data management (e.g., data cleaning and data entry)
  • Administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the study
  • Assisting with other projects as necessary

Here's what you need:


  • Postsecondary degree in sciences, social sciences or a health related discipline.
  • At least 1 year of clinical research experience
  • Experience with participant recruitment in a paediatric setting is an asset
  • Experience with online databases (e.g. REDCap) is an asset
  • Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative research methodology including conducting interviews and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
  • Previous experience working with quantitative (e.g., SAS and SPSS) and qualitative (e.g., NVivo) software
  • Superior communication, organization and time management skills
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships
  • Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team.

Employment Type: 1 year, 1.0 FTE Temporary contract
