Your role on our Team:
Working with our Asset Management team, you will have an opportunity to analyze and report on our assets including joint ventures.
The information gathered in this role is integral to the understanding and success of Minto's ever evolving assets portfolio.In this role, you will:
- Prepare errorfree external reporting according to set deadlines
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of joint venture assets including quantitative reporting (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, capital projects) and qualitative (variance commentary, leasing updates, operational updated)
- Prepare quarterly presentation material in collaboration with Asset Management
- Prepare cash flow forecasting and provide monthly recommendations for cash distributions or demands from external partners
- Form connection with other teams such as Asset Management, Operations, and Finance groups to gather and/or validate information and commentary for reporting and presentations
- Review and support the annual budgeting process; prepare budget packages and presentations for external partners
We would like you to have:
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Education, either University Degree (specializing in Finance or Accounting) or College Diploma (specializing in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced/Superior Excel skills; Intermediate Powerpoint)
- Previous experience preparing or reviewing financial statements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience required
- Experience with real estate, especially multiresidential and development
- Pursuing CPA or CFA designation
- Experience with Yardi preferred; SAP, BPC, Workiva, Sharefile also considered an asset
- Strong Excel modelling skills, ability to construct professional PowerPoint presentations
- Keen sense of how financial statements and note disclosures need to be presented and reviewed
- Genuinely curious with a desire to understand key metrics and drivers
- Courage to challenge existing assumptions or explanations provided by others in a respectful manner
- Open to feedback and new information to change your own assumptions, beliefs and ways of completing tasks
- Ability to prioritize and communicate expectations when there are competing deadlines
