Responsibilities

Oversee the EHS programs and review safe job procedures and other EH&S documentation as assigned.
Develop, update, and deliver training to new and existing employees regarding all aspects of the EH&S program.
Maintain the chemical Inventory data input, bar code creation, inventory update coordination and input, and monitoring of accuracy.
Assist in meeting the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications.
Maintaining SDS collection currency and availability.
Provide regulatory compliance documentation for chemical shipments.
Generate inhouse SDSs for new and supplied chemicals.
Conduct quarterly reviews to recognize all new substances, as defined by Environment Canada, made, or imported by Myant X
Conduct semiannual fume hood operation surveys.
Coordinate industrial hygiene surveys and maintain sample data as required.
Evaluate tasks and identify engineering controls to protect personnel and select suitable personal protective equipment as necessary.
Respond to staff inquiries, concerns, and hazard reports by investigating the nature of the concern and providing the next steps.
Support the effective functioning of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee and the Internal Responsibility System by providing guidance and assistance as required.
Maintain EH&S supplies inventory and storage and issue PPE as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Chemistry.
23 years experience in a health and safety role or a strong desire to move into this field.
Good presentation and communication skills
