About the job

We are looking to fill the position of Sustainability and Social Impact Manager at Danone Canada.


Within the General Secretary Department and the sustainable development team of Danone Canada, the manager will report to the Sustainable Development Director of Danone Canada.

Your main mission will be to support the sustainable development function in order to help build a responsible company that respects its social and environmental commitments.

The manager will be called upon to work with cross-functional teams made up of colleagues from several departments including operations (logistics, supplies, factory), research and innovation, communications and human resources.


In this position, you will assume the following responsibilities:

  • Support Canadian teams from all business units in implementing social and environmental initiatives
  • Help monitor and implement the sustainable development strategy
  • Support the Sustainability Director on various current mandates

More specifically:

Environment

  • Carbon
  • Coordinate the implementation of the 2030 action plan to reduce greenhouse gases for Danone Canada


  • Food waste

  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing losses in the supply chain and coordinate the implementation of the 2030 action plan
  • Establish a robust and comprehensive reporting process for the Danone Impact Journey

Social Impact

  • Support engagement and awareness efforts among employees in terms of volunteering and community involvement (volunteering, fundraising campaign, donation platform for employees, monitoring)

Certification and Engagement

  • Contribute to internal and external communication activities on Danone Canada's sustainable development projects and initiatives
  • Contribute, in collaboration with communications, of producing the company's annual sustainable development report
  • Ensure continuous improvement in performance associated with B Corp certification and employee engagement using the B CAMP program
  • Produce the required documents and information requested by the global team on the various programs and monitoring tools including the internal Danone Way program
  • Represent the company, when required, to our stakeholders and at external events
  • Administrative support and all other related tasks

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in environment/sustainable development (a master's degree is an asset)
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in sustainable development (in CPG is an asset)
  • Good knowledge of operations of a manufacturing company
  • Bilingual (English & French)
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Responsible and committed
  • Proactive and positive attitude
  • Autonomous and resourceful
  • Ability and interest in data analysis and problem solving
  • Knowledge of the main environmental and social issues facing an agrifood company
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team in a constantly changing environment
