Keyworker - Addiction Treatment Services Program

Shift / hours:
Shift work, including days/evenings and weekends

The Behavioural Health Foundation is accepting resumes for the position of full time

  • Keyworker at Addiction Treatment Services Program. The incumbent will be directly responsible for assigned client care, supervision and treatment planning.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • The individual will be responsible for assigned client care and maintaining the files of adult clients as well as the supervision of persons in residential addiction and cooccurring disorders treatment services.
  • The incumbent will provide individual and group counseling, make referrals to the Clinical Therapist, educate residents with regards to addictions using a therapeutic community model.
  • Attend and participate in weekly team meetings and case discussions.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

  • Knowledge of Indigenous heritage, culture, spirituality, customs and language will be considered an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of addiction and cooccurring mental health issues and traumainformed practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problemsolve, to interpret situations accurately and to respond appropriately and responsibly.
  • Must be willing to participate in required trainings.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry.
  • Valid Manitoba Driver's License and current Driver's Abstract.
  • Must be able to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and be reliable.
  • Must adhere to confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
