What You Will Do:


  • Responsible for directing the repair and maintenance of company facility, machinery, and equipment
  • Responsible for scheduling direct reports to complete ongoing and preventative maintenance and repairs of company facility, machinery, and equipment
  • Responsible for scheduling outside contractors for both regular and emergency repairs
  • Responsible for ordering parts and components for inventory as needed
  • Understand maintenance cost drivers and promote cost effective solutions amongst maintenance personnel
  • Understand the knowledge, skills, and abilities of each maintenance employee in order to select, train, and provide guidance and inspiration through leadership and teamwork to ensure empowered work teams
  • Review deficiencies noted during corrective maintenance, properly channel these issues toward execution
  • Ensure proper tool availability to improve the maintenance efficiency.
  • Conduct performance management with maintenance personnel, including performance evaluations and personal development plans
  • Conduct training and meetings with department personnel as needed
  • Provide assistance to the production team to implement and support lean and quality initiatives
  • Comply with all internal and OH&S safety regulations, and uphold these standards with all personnel
  • Maintain positive working relationships within the production group.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • Must have previous leadership experience (Minimum of 5 years)
  • Possess a Journeyman ticket in the discipline of electrician, millwright or heavyduty mechanical
  • Proficient project management skills required; some education in this field is preferred
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills required
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze failures and implement effective corrective solutions
  • Effective communication skills to influence all levels of personnel and to create change
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to influence safety practices and initiatives
  • Ability to work as a team member with strong time management and record keeping skills
  • Ability to develop work schedules and coordinate projects/assignments to meet deadline
  • Extremely detailoriented
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to handle the daytoday demands of the job
  • Exceptional analytical skills needed for critical decisionmaking
  • Excellent timemanagement skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of electrical (AC & DC), PLC's, pneumatics, hydraulics, plumbing, pipefitting, fabrication and welding
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management system (CMMC)
  • Must have availability to work some evening/nights/weekends and offhour callins
  • Red Seal certification preferred
