Description

The Elves Adult program is a community access program for adults living with developmental disabilities.

We are currently looking for a Recreational Therapy Aide through the
Canada Summer Jobs Program.

This is a temporary position (16 weeks from May to the end of August), and hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.

Main responsibilities include:

Assisting in planning and implementing recreational activities for individuals
Collecting and recording data related to participant progress and behavior
Collaborating with other staff members to create a positive and inclusive environment
Supporting individuals with special needs or disabilities during recreational activities
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of recreational areas
Completing administrative tasks as needed

Experience:

Previous experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- are between 18 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment.
- are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and are legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 16 weeks

Pay:
$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
