QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have experience in the maintenance and repair of equipment used in the facility.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, furnace and plumbing repairs, electrical safety, carpentry and use of tools.
Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions.
Ability to stand and walk long distances throughout the working day.
Ability to squat, lift and carry items of various weights throughout the working day.
Empathy for and an ability to get along with the elderly.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems and contact tradespersons for major repairs
Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
Work with mínimal supervision
Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
