Description

Bradley Steel, a division of Buhler Industries Inc. is looking for an experienced Operations Manager for the location at 1201 Regent Avenue West Winnipeg.

The role of the Operations Manager is to keep the Bradley Steel Division running as efficiently as possible and keeping internal and external customers satisfied, based on company objectives, using resources given.

Duties include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the best use of materials and human resources.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Ensure that both external and internal customers receive their orders on time at the best cost and quality
Review orders as they are received from outside sources to determine cost and delivery
Cost, setup and process all new parts from Farm King, Versatile and outside sources
Expedite orders as per customer requests or as they become due
Ensure that work flows smoothly on the plant floor
Process weekly production reports for Laser and Progressive divisions
Assign jobs to floor personnel based on production requirements
Supervise all floor staff, including truck drivers and shippers
Motivate the team, demonstrate and enforce high working standards
Plan all intercity deliveries between divisions
Daily scheduling and tracking of all flat decks and vans between divisions
Reviewing costs of intercity traffic
Hiring of office and plant staff
Completing projects from Head Office
Reducing Inventory
Looking for new opportunities to make the plant and office more efficient and cost effective

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

Several years of experience within operations at a supervisory capacity.

Five (5) to ten (10) years of supervisory experience in manufacturing

Highly developed personal skills

An analytical mind able to quickly assess large amounts of information and data is very important, as is the ability to consider and evaluate the relationships between numerous factors

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Leadership, self-confidence, motivation, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgment, and determination skills are all needed

Ability to multitask while under pressure
-
Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
