The Opportunity


Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a key business partner between the global finance organization and the business with respect to identifying systematic solutions to provide data on business results
  • Ownership and evolution of Canopy's financial systems strategy, in partnership with FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and IT, recommending and executing evolutions as appropriate as the business transforms and matures
  • Contribute to a highperformance environment that attracts, retains, develops and motivates the team by fostering an inclusive work environment and provides effective coaching to maximize performance, promote accountability and build shared knowledge within the team and the wider Finance and IT organizations
  • Maintain the Canopy management reporting system in an operational state. Gather recommendations from the user community, develop improvement plans. Accountable for Hierarchy maintenance
  • Document and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for efficient and effective execution of the Finance Financial Systems mandate
  • Provide expertise and relevant training to users of Canopy's financial systems
  • Responsible for maintenance and improvements to Anaplan for Budget/Forecasts/Actual. Monthly load of Actuals and exports to the Canopy management reporting system of Forecasts/Budgets
  • Be the goto Anaplan "expert" for the team, evangelizing the benefits of the tool and coaching other Finance, IT and business partners on the use cases and features within the tool
  • Modify the Anaplan system on an as requested basis, or, on a project basis for more comprehensive changes
  • Provide governance for those attributes of master data that directly impact the internal and external reporting of financial results
  • Provide finance leadership on new software / solution implementations, providing expertise for both the FP&A and external reporting organizations
  • Coordinate ad hoc analysis and troubleshooting for system issues as they arise, including appropriate coordination of solution design with IT
  • Maintain statutory reporting capability for tax purposes
  • Build and maintain a framework for capturing nonfinancial performance data in financial systems (headcount, units, grams, equivalence, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent required; CPA designation desirable- 5+ years of broad finance experience, including a combination of both FP&A/Accounting and system governance- Experience working with multi-national, publicly traded corporations with global operations and multiple foreign currencies- Experience with Anaplan, Cognos, SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, Sage, Netsuite and SAP S/4HANA preferred- Consumer packaged goods industry experience preferred, including familiarity with systematic solutions for price, volume and mix analysis across multiple product categories- Experience in a highly controlled system environment and an awareness and desire to continuously improve the control environment- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work in a team setting and build collaborative relationships with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English- Experience working in a growing organization with changing needs and multiple complex business transactions
