We are seeking a Lead Hand to support the Animal Care team at our Kemptville production centre.

Working closely with the Animal Care Supervisor, this role is responsible for ensuring high-quality bull care, semen collection and employee support and training on processes and procedures affecting the animal care team.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring staff are organized and preparing bulls according to the collection schedule
  • Bull handling during collection
  • Providing high standard animal care
  • Training & support of staff on policies, procedures, biosecurity etc.
  • Monitor equipment for maintenance requirements
  • Leadership in the absence of the Animal Care Supervisor

Skills:


  • Previous experience in large animal agriculture
  • Delegation
  • Clear communication both written and verbal
  • Comfort and understanding with tools and software such as AX and Sharepoint
