Job Summary

We have an opportunity for a Production Worker Halal Sticker working on the live side of our plant to join our team.

This is a night shift role, running Sunday night to Thursday night, from 9:30pm to 6:00am.

Key Responsibilities

Recognize birds exiting the stunner that must be cut or decapitated per requirements; perform ritual cut for Halal slaughter
Able to consistently ensure all birds are properly cut and bled prior to any processing
Make minor adjustments as required to the automated machinery and adjacent slitter equipment
Handle poultry in humane manner
Set live product in shackle line

Maintain required line speed

Ensure work area is kept clean and compliant with all food safety and animal welfare standards

Requirements:

Successful completion of Humane handling training related to stunning and slitting of birds at slaughter
High dexterity required to accurately cut the birds neck and ensure sufficient bleeding or decapitation if required.
Able to work in a refrigerated environment
Consistent commitment to working safely and animal welfare
Able to accurately work at production line speed
No restrictions preventing the ability to wear required PPE for this role, including face masks, eye goggles, or any other PPE that may be required due to workplace Basic understanding of English and ability to follow simple directions

Mechanical knowledge of automated machinery is an asset

Schedule:

Night shift: 9:30pm - 6:00am

Sunday to Thursday night shift

Starting Wage:
$ $26.72

Raises every 6 months; top rate reached after 3 years
