The Opportunity:

The
Dishwasher role will be serving the
ATHENS CREEK RETIREMENT LODGE IN
PENTICTON, BC.

This role is responsible for ensuring top resident care is priority, with an elevated level of focus in time management and hospitality and providing excellent service for our Residents and Care Partners.


Part Time - 0.2 FTE 8 hours/week.
(Days, Weekends, Evenings, Nights:

Rotation Fri one week and Saturday the next week, 11am-8pm with a 1hr unpaid break from 3-4pm or could possibly be every Saturday.


Foundational knowledge and experience to grow from:

  • Coordinates tasks with the vision, objectives and guiding philosophy of Connecting Care
  • A strong personal commitment to Person Directed Care approaches. Current familiarity with the Eden Alternative Philosophy and the Domains of Well-Being is preferred
  • Strives to attain excellence in Resident, family member and employee care partner satisfaction
  • Properly washes, stacks and stores glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers
  • Scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into dish machine
  • Clean food prep stations and equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed
  • Basic kitchen prep (potato peeling etc.)
  • Friendly with a sense of humor and the utmost respect for all persons
  • Knowledge of supportive living services, assessment, and care planning
  • Maintains ongoing compliance with appropriate local, provincial, and federal regulatory standards
  • Demonstrates strength in building partnerships with Residents, family members, employee care partners, volunteers, external care partners and the community at large to ensure the vibrancy of our community
  • Flexible, willingness to prioritize and adjust routines
  • Strong time management skills
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills, and ability to effectively deal crisis situations
  • Awareness for accident and injury prevention and adheres to safe work practices
  • Auditing and collecting ongoing resident/family feedback. Including but not limited to the Resident Food Services committee
  • Assisting in identifying and addressing needs within the Community
  • Actively participating on various committees/meetings providing advice/ input
  • Perform additional cleaning duties as requested

Skills and key deliverables that will take you further:

  • Food Safe Certificate is an asset
  • Restaurant or customer service experience preferred
  • Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, moving quickly, and standing for 4hr stretches twice a day
  • Obtain prior to employment, a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
  • COVID vaccinations are still a requirement
