Construction Labourer - Atlantic Road Construction and Paving

Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in heavy civil excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement and asphalt paving.

We are currently looking to hire an experienced
Estimator to join our growing team in the HRM area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Read blueprints in order to estimate project cost effectively.
Performing quantity takeoffs and preparing estimates of probable costs.
Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers on various estimates towards the construction project.
Prepare a summary of the quantities in terms of the plans and specs.
Examining and analyzing tender documents, requests for proposals, and requests for quotations.
Liaising, consulting, and communicating with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

University degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Construction Management Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.
Extensive experience estimating provincial and municipal & commercial projects.
Working knowledge of various Estimating and CAD software.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
Professional attitude, punctual, assertive, and personable.
Must have strong communication, time management and organizational skills.
