Job Summary:
The Baycrest Redevelopment & Facility Management Services ensures a safe and secure environment for Baycrest Residents, Patients, Volunteers, Staff, and visitors by developing, implementing, and sustaining an effective and efficient Security and Emergency Preparedness Program center-wide.
The Operations Supervisor will play a vital role in supporting the Program Director to fulfill the responsibilities associated with representing the Hospital during emergency, fire, or security-related situations.
This includes providing staff education, responding to alarms, conducting investigations, inspections, debriefs, fire drills, mock exercises, and serving as a liaison with key stakeholders and other relevant authorities as needed.
The Operations Supervisor will actively address ongoing concerns related to Security Operations, Telecommunications, Retail Food Services, Grounds Maintenance, Snow removal, and Emergency Preparedness across our campus; and support the strategic priorities of the organization.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the Program Director in operationalizing all services within their designated area of responsibility (Security, Emergency Preparedness, Telecommunications, Retail, Leased Space)
- Fosters and sustains appropriate working relationships of an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to care and service across the organization.
- Establishes and maintains regular reporting cycle(s) with all the designated services and ensures that requisite services are provided in an efficient and effective manner.
- Maintains awareness of, and ensures ongoing compliance of all legislation, regulatory acts, and policies pertaining to the designated services within their portfolio.
- Ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of quality, utilization and risk management programs appropriate to the designated services within their portfolio.
- Ensures the establishment of standards for all disciplines within the designated areas of responsibility and to ensure ongoing review and measurement of practice against these standards.
- Ensures the existence of continuing education/training programs to meet the needs of the staff within the designated services.
- Ensures that a safe working environment and safe practices exist in the areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for supporting overall organization, coordination, functioning, and evaluation of all security services, exterior grounds and snow removal services, retail food services, telecommunications, and emergency preparedness.
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- Successful completion of a Secondary School program diploma (grade 12), or equivalent.
- Valid license under the Private Security and Investigative Services Acts an asset
- Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator, (CHPA) an asset
- Incident Management System Training Certification
- Emergency Management Ontario Certification
- Certified Fire Specialist or other relevant postsecondary Fire Safety Training preferred
- A minimum of 35 years management experience related to security, fire safety, emergency preparedness preferably in a hospital with direct supervisory responsibilities
