Job Description:


Audit Manager I
:


  • Reporting to the Senior Audit Group Manager, Credit Risk Audit, the Audit Manager I is responsible for providing specialized indepth audit expertise and contributing to the planning, risk assessment and/or execution of audits across different business units within Canadian Business Banking, US Commercial Banking and TD Auto Finance, TD Securities and Credit Risk Management globally.

Specifically, the Audit Manager I will:

  • Participate in audits completing credit file reviews and operational risk programs;
  • Assess business risks and processes and develop, update and execute related audit programs;
  • Oversee and execute the followup of findings arising from internal audits and regulatory reviews in accordance with established standards and timelines as assigned;
  • Manage ongoing communication and reporting process with the client and senior management;
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Audit Division, on the development of audit plans, identification of emerging trends, issues and evolving regulatory requirements; assess potential impact across the audited business units by providing input to the team and/or senior management.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, issues, points of interest and knowledge with audit management, colleagues, and internal and external business partners.
  • Support management and other team members in the achievement of individual, divisional and team goals.

Requirements:

Lending experience in a Commercial or Corporate Banking environment is considered a significant asset:


  • Relevant professional certifications or accounting designations are considered a significant asset;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills;
  • Team player with an ability to manage a team of audit professionals directly/indirectly including developing, training and coaching other team members;
  • Goal oriented, highly motivated and willing to positively accept new challenges;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high level of computer literacy;
  • Strong negotiation skills and good business acumen;
  • Effective time management, multitasking and organization skills to meet tight timelines and adapt to changing priorities;
  • Where appropriate, represent the Credit Risk Audit Group on various committees and working groups;
  • A business/finance degree is an asset.
