Short Summary:

Offer exceptional service and create a positive guest experience for those dining in VUE Bistros.

Responsible for professionally performing tasks to assist the Event and Counter Server and Bartenders in satisfying guests by running food from main kitchen, clearing, cleaning and resetting tables as required.

Will also provide assistants to set up and tear down of events in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Making customers feel welcome and comfortable, all the while performing under the Food and Beverage Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).

  • Ensure the VUE Bistros is ready for service and assigned side duties are complete prior to service
  • Maintain VUE Bistros service stations; for example, cleaning, maintaining stock as necessary
  • Work in conjunction with Event and Counter Server, Restaurant Service Manager(s) and Kitchen (shift Sous Chef) to expedite food orders and ensure guests receive their orders efficiently and promptly
  • Support the Event and Counter Servers as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Clear tables throughout service, reset, replace soiled linen as directed by Event and Counter Server and Management
  • Provide assistance to set up and tear down events in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Conduct inventory of outdoor fridge, bars, kitchen fridge and storage closets
  • Collect and remove garbage, recycling and dirty linen. Box and stack all returnable alcohol bottles in a neat and orderly fashion in the designated area
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of menus, products, cooking process, ingredients and potential relevant allergies
  • Participate in departmental skills training as required
  • Assist the Restaurant Managers and VUE Bistros staff with other designated duties within the job classification

Qualifications:


  • Smart Serve certification is required
  • Food and Beverage knowledge is an asset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

Working Conditions:


  • Interacts with employees, management and the public at large.
  • Department uniforms are provided to protect personal clothing from wear and damage. Approved uniforms are to be worn during working hours. Dress codes are in effect as per the standard policy and procedure.
  • Must be able to work in a physical capacity requiring lifting, pushing and pulling, bending and reaching.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of the day.
  • Noisy and fastpaced, team environment.
  • Excellent guest services skills with an ability to recommend the CN Tower products.
  • Flexible to work rotating shifts, which includes but is not limited to evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
