We have an opportunity for an experienced
Benefits Specialist to join our team in a permanent, full-time role.

The Benefits Specialist will work with the Global Benefits Manager on a range of Rewards projects and programs to deliver a driven, equitable and broad approach to Rewards.


Your anticipated responsibilities include:


Employee Benefits Support:
Supports with Canadian and US Employee Benefit programs in a manner consistent with the GHD's global benefit principles

Provides ad hoc support to global governance projects

Supports with the annual open enrollment process

Acts as an advisor to wider HR teams regarding policies, practices and procedures

Creates global benefits communications that educate employees about benefit plans, programs and changes

Prepares and develops employee communication and education materials as needed

Coordinate the local delivery of benefits programs and initiatives within the North American Business

Act as a point of contact for all incoming employee inquires related to benefits

Coordinate day-to-day processing of benefits programs

Create process/procedure maps and training for people shared services team on administrative tasks

Maintains US and Canadian intranet site as a communication tool

Leave of Absence Support

Remains up to date with all laws and regulations that govern leave of absence

Along with the GHD Leave of Absence outsource provider, acts the point of contact on all matters related to leave management and disability management

Maintains confidential information and files regarding project management, policies, and personnel ensuring appropriate follow-up

Builds strong relationships with plan providers; troubleshoots and timely resolve issues and/or escalations in an equitable manner

Analyze patterns in leave of absence data to identify gaps and recommend process improvement


About you:

To deliver against these responsibilities you must have the following:

Degree Qualified in Human Resources or any related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits / leave of absence or human resources.

Experience working with a Global consultancy or Professional services experience is highly desired.

Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail

Ability to work with numerical data coupled with excellent written and verbal communication.


Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the business along with the broader People team.

Software capability such as Microsoft Excel is preferred.

Adapt to change and is a good thinker.

Ability to lead and influence members of the team, devising strategies and maintaining principles.
