Position Description:


The Sickkids Neuro-Oncology Program have developed, activated and run multiple investigator-initiated national and international clinical trials dedicated to studying and advancing the treatment of pediatric cancer.


We work with patients, physicians, and scientists from all over the world to conduct cutting edge clinical trials with a robust correlative exploratory biology component.

This work has led to multiple high-impact papers and changes in the management of children with cancer.


Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • Overall coordination of international stakeholders, including patients, physicians, scientific, laboratory, regulatory ethics boards and clinical trial support staff.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) with the writing and preparation of study protocols, consents, trial documents, amendments, lab manuals, and casereport forms.
  • Assist in the development of questionnaires, study results, reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
  • Use your scientific knowledge to develop and optimize sample processes.
  • Develop study binders for clinical department and study team use.
  • Initiate and maintain a research chart that will include trial and patient protocol documentation.
  • Maintain a robust study database and assist with database design and essential changes.
  • Assist with data entry and analysis, including planning.
  • Conduct literature reviews and keep current with study literature.
  • Keep abreast of regulations and policies governing clinical research in multiple countries.
  • Participate in audits, site visits and monitoring by SickKids and other regulatory bodies or industry sponsors.
  • Develop you professional acumen by working with a large team of clinicians and researchers on challenging problems and benefit from an intellectually stimulating and vibrant environment.
  • Attend regular laboratory, workshops and project meetings in order to increase your knowledge and understanding of pediatric cancer and clinical trials.

Here's What You'll Need

  • Minimum MSc, MD or PhD (science or healthrelated field) preferred
  • 25 years of experience coordinating multicenter clinical trials
  • Strong familiarity with clinical research ethics and the development of study protocols
  • Experience in a wet laboratory setting an asset
  • Adept at maintaining a high level of cultural sensitivity and awareness
  • Proficiency in MS Office and/or SQL an asset
  • Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Temporary Full-time, 1.0 FTE
