If so, consider this exciting opportunity with the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) at the Ministry of the Attorney General where you will provide executive administrative services to the Chair, Executive Director, and Alternate Chair in such areas as correspondence, human resources documentation, Orders-in-Council (OIC) appointments, reappointments, recruitment, Member training and other Executive Office senior administrative activities.

What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • perform administrative and day-to-day activities of the Executive Office by scheduling appointments, meetings, and events
- manage issues, determine priority, respond and/or escalate to the attention of senior management
- organize and arrange meeting attendance, prepare correspondence, reports, tables, and briefing slide decks, and ensure accurate processing of correspondence
- provide human resource services by coordinating OIC recruitment process and preparing recruitment documents and files reviews, recommend, draft, and implement new/revised administrative procedures and protocols to improve office operations and update/maintain office procedure manuals


How do I qualify?:


Communication and interpersonal skills:


  • You demonstrate written and oral communication skills to respond to inquiries and prepare correspondence and reports.
  • You have excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with highlevel officials and staff with tact as well as to respond to inquiries concerning sensitive issues.
  • You demonstrate strong consultation skills to advise senior management and staff on expenditure issues and problems; resolve document preparation and approval problems, expedite materials and provide assistance in organizing responses.
  • You demonstrate tact and discretion in dealing with Members, senior management staff, Ministry executives, and stakeholders to provide information and preparation of correspondence and materials.

Organizational skills:


  • You have strong coordinating and organizational skills to determine work priorities and coordinate administrative activities.
  • You are attentive to detail to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness of documentation.

Analytical and issues management skills:


  • You have superior judgement, analytical, and issues management skills to manage changing priorities and to identify matters for senior management.
  • You are able to independently resolve issues including those of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.

Technical knowledge and experience:


  • You have experience with administrative and correspondence policies and practices to coordinate the preparation of briefing notes and correspondence for senior management.
