SUMMARY


The Manager, Game Presentation & Events will envision, create, and deliver highly engaging, strategically aligned, live game day experiences, as well as other major signature events for the Edmonton Elks.

The goal for every home game will be to deliver compelling in-game production with creative, exciting, and unique fan entertainment experiences.


Reporting to the Interim Chief Operating Officer, the Manager, Game Presentation & Events will be responsible for creating the vision, planning the content, working with sponsorship and marketing on executing all activations.

This position will be responsible for constantly elevating the production of the game day and entertainment experiences for the Edmonton Elks.


This role will work synergistically within the Brand Team to develop fully integrated fan activation and Sponsorship engagement programs around live events.

These programs will include theme days, sponsorship deliverables, special events, and Elks fan engagement programs fully aligned with the brand strategy.


JOB DUTIES

  • Develop and oversee all game day scripts, ceremonies, theme days, technicians, host(s), music and all other entertainment assets that deliver most memorable football fan experiences
  • Lead the development and ongoing enhancements of the live game day experience, creating the most compelling fan experience possible
  • Oversee a full game day technical production team which includes but not limited to, audio and comms systems, halftime production, pyrotechnics, etc.
  • Work with Manager, Game Day & Entertainment on executing new ideas for ingame entertainment
  • Oversee game day operations crew on preparing for game day, ensuring all pregame, ingame and postgame operational matters are considered
  • Direct all Edmonton Elks Home Football Games including overseeing all game day production crew members
  • Perform executive producer functions for all videoboard content, ingame features, and entertainment elements
  • Develop and oversee the Coordinator, Game Presentation and Events for all game days and Elks Signature events such as Women's Dinner, Annual Dinner and Fan Day
  • Oversee and execute all external pregame activations
  • Work collaboratively and create new fan activations and entertainment content for the Corporate Partnership team in helping build ingame promotions and elements that both engage fans and generate partner positivity
  • Envision and oversee appearance and performances of all game day ceremonial elements including national anthem performances, VIP's, entertainers, halftime performances, etc.
  • Focus on finding the newest and best entertainment that's relevant to our game, our province, and our country and that appeals to our current fans and new fans
  • Oversee all pregame and halftime rehearsals and all elements
  • Work collaboratively with the CFL, TSN and local Broadcast partner on game related and player related entertainment initiatives.
  • Be an active and positive collaborator across all internal departments and a role model for the organization
  • Manage the Game Presentation & Events budgets closely and ensure the Club is meeting its financial objectives and commitments
  • Other duties as required

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Post Secondary degree in Sport Management or Radio, TV and Film is an asset, but not required
  • Minimum 3years experience of related work experience in sports and/or entertainment events management
  • Comfort with leadership, organization, delegation, and monitoring skills in building a high performing team
  • Demonstrated motivational abilities, team building and effective training techniques
  • Aptitude for change and innovation in a fastpaced environment with frequent changes in priorities
  • Professionalism and maturity in responding to staff and customer issues, complaints, and assertive behaviour
  • Efficient and trained in working with Sho Flo Scripting program is an asset, but not required
  • Team oriented style with a "can do" service focus to achieve organizational results
  • Availability to work irregular hours and work schedules, and all home game days
