We are looking for Health Care Aides to assist in providing care to our Mental Health patients who require constant observation.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Pediatric team at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. We are an interdisciplinary team providing care to Pediatric patients and their families. 4 North is a general Pediatric unit providing care to those with medical, surgical and mental health needs. We also provide care to adults as needed and support units within the Women & Children's Health Portfolio.


Description:

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.

You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Basic Life Support - Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP). Reliable and dependable. Strong written and verbal communication. Demonstrated skills in conflict management. Ability to safeguard Alberta Health Services information as private and confidential. Ability to follow and adhere to Alberta Health Services policies, procedures, goals and objectives. Ability to perform duties as outlined on the Physical Demands Statement (PDS) for the position. Must be available to work various shifts/days.


Preferred Qualifications:

Preference is given to those who have Pediatrics experience. Previous Mental health experience. Pediatric Mental Health experience is beneficial.
