FUEL AND LUBE TECHNICIAN


We are currently recruiting a Fuel and Lube Technician to join our growing team within the Thompson Okanagan region of British Columbia.


General Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Work safely in a mining or civil construction environment following company procedures and policies
  • Fuel, grease, and lubricate equipment
  • Follow equipment service and maintenance schedules and advise if repair is required
  • Service attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other daily and scheduled routine maintenance work on tools and equipment
  • Assist mechanics with equipment adjustments and repairs or replace defective parts, components or systems
  • Conduct pre and post operational checks and safety inspections on equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Assist mechanic with completing general work orders including recording parts used by part number and quantity
  • Assist mechanic in testing equipment for proper performance
  • Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs
  • Daily 360° inspection of all equipment for operational and safety checks

Requirements:


  • Ability to complete mandatory internetbased Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification
  • Class 5 Driver's Licence and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract
  • Operates safely with care and attention to the equipment, the jobsite and the crew
  • Strict attention and compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs
  • Willingness to step out of the cab and perform labour tasks if and when required
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Good communication skills
  • Reliable transportation

Location:

This position is based out of the Highland Valley Copper Mine near Logan Lake, British Columbia but may be required to travel to other sites in the Merritt and Kamloops area.
