Job Title:
CNC Operator


Job Overview:

As a CNC Operator at Holman you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient manufacturing process.

You will be responsible for providing materials to the Wood Shop Team to efficiently complete the construction or building of the fixture(s).


Key Responsibilities:


1.


CNC Operation:


  • Review & understand CNC Programming.
  • Provide feedback, assessing & communicating risks of programming, to CNC Programmer and Wood Shop Foreman.
  • Setup and operate CNC Machines to maximize efficiencies.
  • Replace and calibrate tools, identify tool conditions and maintain a tool inventory.
  • Communicate equipment maintenance required and/or equipment malfunction to the Wood Shop Foreman as soon as possible.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean during each shift with a final cleaning done at the end of each shift, including emptying offcut bins.
  • Inspect dust collectors daily and empty dust collectors as needed.
  • Prepare and organize cut parts for the next stage of production, including the removal of dust from the cut parts.
  • Organize sheet goods and communicate sheet goods stock inventory levels to Wood Shop Foreman.
  • Safely operate forklift to move material(s).
  • Continue to grow your understanding of current CNC methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancements.

Weekly Shop Meetings:


  • Attend and actively participate in meetings to understand the details of upcoming jobs.
  • Identify and communicate risks to the jobs.

Communication:


  • Maintain open and effective communication with crossfunctional teams, including Wood Shop, Assembly, Warehouse, Detailing, Project Managers and CNC Programmer.
  • Effectively communicate revisions and changes to all stakeholders to ensure they understand the impact to the build.

Health & Safety:


  • Complete the appropriate Health and Safety Training as required throughout your career.
  • Act as a role model in the demonstration of positive health and safety behaviours at work.

Qualifications:


  • A relevant degree or diploma.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Technical knowledge of fabrication, millwork and interior building materials
  • Knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Fluent in English verbal and written.
  • Skilled in time management.
