POSITION VACANCY:
Outpatient Pediatric Eating Disorders


POSITION:
Temporary Full Time Social Worker
- until March 31, 2024


HOURS OF WORK: 7.5 hours - Weekdays. Possibility of flexible hours


Summary:


  • Promotes collaborative team practice amongst disciplines to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Assesses clients and families for the purpose of evaluating and identifying the presenting issues, the need and appropriateness for service, and the formulation of recommendations or treatment plans.
  • Creates caregiver group interventions for individuals on a waitlist.
  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship with clients and families.
  • Takes a client history by gathering current and past information related to the psychosocial and physical health status, and the social environment of the client.
  • Uses evidencebased approaches to facilitate clients in meeting their goals.
  • Counsels and educates caregivers in skillbuilding and coping skills.
  • Uses a theoretical approach to behaviour changes in order to support client and family selfmanagement. Actively integrates current evidence into clinical practice.
  • Contributes expertise and assists in program planning and content development.

Qualifications:


  • Must hold a Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Ensures and maintains professional competencies and standards thorough annual membership in the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Experience creating and delivering caregiverbased groups.
  • Experience in facilitating virtual health care.
  • Experience working with the adolescent population.
  • Knowledge about onset and maintenance of eating disorders in order to provide psychoeducation to caregivers and youth.
  • Demonstrated ability for critical thinking, effective problem solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and communication skills necessary to promote positive interdisciplinary team dynamics.
  • Demonstrated reliability, dependability and adaptability.
  • Reflective practitioner and is committed to professional and selfdevelopment.
  • Proficient in electronic documentation and documents accurately in a relevant and timely manner.
