Overview:
Term: 2 years
The Research Project Officer will be engaged to assist on a variety of projects related to women, work, and the economy, as well as some defence and security research.
There is a need for a Research Project Officer with experience using qualitative research methods, completing literature reviews, and providing administrative support for project activities and events.
This role is contingent on funding.
Responsibilities:
Administrative project support
- Assist updating research group websites
- Daytoday administrative support as necessary, including progress reports, grant files, and reimbursements
- Assisting with research activities/events
- Manages project files and assists in monitoring research progress
- Liaising with partners for research activities/events
- Conducts preliminary literature reviews, using both academic and nonacademic sources
- Conducts basic proofreading and citation checking on written work
- Analyze qualitative research data and identify links to quantitative data
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree obtained in related field
- For example: Political Science, Economics, and/or Finance
- At least 1 year of research experience
- Experience with academic research (literature surveys, data analysis etc)
- Experience coordinating conferences, workshops, and events. Experience with virtual events considered an asset.
- Experience in information dissemination, including website development and maintenance, social media seen as an asset
- Excellent research and communication skills
- Proven aptitude for attention to detail and to ensure data integrity
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion and work independently with mínimal supervision within a fastpaced, deadline driven multitasking environment
