We work to educate ourselves and our communities on issues of oppression and liberation, to create social change. We provide essential services to women in our communities who have experienced violence.

La Maison Rosewood Shelter is seeking a
permanent part-time 20hr/week Cook to prepare healthy meals for shelter residents. If you have a passion for food and are committed to preparing healthy and nutritious meals that appeal to a wide variety of people, we want to hear from you

Essential functions include:

Prepare healthy meals daily for residents ensuring that allergies and restrictions are adhered to
Maintain healthy food planning and menus
Generate weekly food purchases list
Engage in a respectful manner with residents
Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and order
Follow food handling guidelines
Knowledgeable or willing to learn about indigenous culture and food
Ability to shift priorities and change recipe requirements when needed.

Qualifications include:

Passion for food and nutrition
The ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to stand for 4 hours a day, bending and moving around.
WHIMIS and CPR/First Aid
Minimum grade 12 or equivalent required.
