Job Purpose and Impact


The National Account Leader will expand and execute strategic partnerships with assigned large foodservice customers to drive volume, growth, contribution margin, as well as enhance opportunities for the customer and the company.

In this role, you will foster relationships with strategic customers, create demand for our products and services by raising the company's profile with customers, identifying and matching customer needs to the company's capabilities.

You will collaborate with internal business partners to ensure defined customer needs are met, serving as the primary point of contact to coordinate and facilitate cross-business initiatives for a broad range of product lines, including beef, ground beef, general proteins, cooking oil, salt, food ingredients, and digital tools.


This role offers a remote work opportunity anywhere within Canada with access to a large airport. Key Accountabilities


Develop and implement strategies for key accounts to expand demand, improve margin growth and extend strategic partnership, including driving solutions, nurturing relationships and leading the enterprises in a collaborative approach.

Establish trust, mutually beneficial and long term partnership with customers to better understand their objectives and provide relevant solutions, clarify mid to long term strategic needs and develop and agree on how to help the customer and their customers succeed.

Collect insights from the external market to understand competitors and influence trends and customers to make purchase commitments based upon the company's distinctive value, define and deliver value proposition including appropriate margin contribution and pricing principles adherence.

Build and nurture an internal network to deliver optimal solutions such as the leadership of collaboration with key stakeholders internally, definition of long term strategy and anticipation of challenges to ensure effective solutions and approaches.

Use tailored storytelling that resonates with and inspires customers, that create excitement around our role in the achievement of their strategic objectives.

Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems.

You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma/Certificate or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Strong project management skills
Experience in understanding customer context, uncovering customer key performance indicators, articulating customer objectives and adding value to partnerships
Experience in strategic relationships building, business development in highly competitive, mature markets
Minimum of six years of related work experience
Ability to travel between 25-40% within Canada and United States
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada Preferred Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word, Outlook, Teams)
Ability to deal with conflict, complexity and ambiguity
Proven track record of delivering results to achieve business targets
Strong presentation and organization skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization
In-depth knowledge in protein products and foodservice
Strong negotiation, influencing and persuasive skills.
