Duty Officer to join our growing and ever-changing organization.
The Duty Officer is responsible to the Senior Manager, SOCC & Planning for overseeing day-of operations within the SOCC, guiding teams from APC, OCC, Crew Scheduling, Dispatch, and MOC to ensure day-of operations run smoothly.
The Duty Officer will also be the first point of escalation for all IROPs, as well as specific responsibilities tasked by the Senior Manager, SOCC & Planning.
Primary Job Functions:
The duties of the
Duty Officer include:
- Monitoring day-of operations flights and communicating delays, irregular operations (IROPs), or any other changes to function heads, as applicable;
- Ensuring that daily tasks are on track and are being completed in a timely manner;
- Monitor the company's flight operations software to ensure accuracy;
- Investigating and coding delays for all flights with input from support departments;
- Conducting cost analysis of all IROPs;
- Coordinating departments during normal operations and IROPs to ensure proper customer service;
Secondary Job Functions:
- Be the point of contact for all operational IROPs;
- Plan and coordinate the recovery of all IROPs, taking into account the opinion of all different functions;
- Determine any areas of concern for the upcoming week of flying;
- Other duties and assignments, as required;
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- University/College degree/diploma considered an asset;
- Previous Airline Operations Centre or Airport Operations experience is preferred;
- Valid First Aid is an asset; the ability to pass and obtain a basic First Aid certificate is a requirement;
- A current Transport Canada Flight Dispatcher certificate is considered an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highstress, deadlinedriven, everchanging work environment while prioritizing tasks and assignments;
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure with timesensitive priorities;
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain an organized workflow;
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders;
- Demonstrated analytical, decisionmaking, and problemsolving skills;
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references;
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction;
